OK, I'm just taking a few minutes, here, in the middle of writing Episode Five, Part One...
(yes, Episode Five will be too long to be one part, so it's a two-parter...)
I wanted to update you on how it's going, so far, for any of you who are interested:
Story Progress
At this point, I have, as I have said, more than five seasons outlined. Each season is 25 episodes and, of course, some of those episodes are multi-part, so... it's a big story. When you consider that each episode is averaging, what... 20 pages or so?
We're talking about a project larger than some novel series'.
At the time of this writing, Episodes 0-4 are posted... Episode 5 is in the works... Episode 6 is partly done and has renders already done for it... Episode 8 is partly done and has several renders done for it... Episode 14 is partly done and has a render done... Episode 19 is partly done... and Episode 23 is about half done.
In addition, Season TWO, Episode 2 is partly done and I'm starting to get some more of the details in place for Episodes 13 and 21.
AND SEASON THREE, Episode 11 is partly done!
Editing
I have had to go back and edit each and every one of them because I made a spelling error in the credits.
's character's name is Runhaad-Pilf, NOT Ruunhad-Pilf. I juxtaposed the double vowel in the credits on the first few episodes, and so, I went back in and corrected them.
Also, in my rush to get through Episode 4 and get it posted, I missed a rather important detail... if you can call a GIRL a detail... and had to go back and edit it to fix the issue It's now a page longer, has a little more dialogue... and I hope you enjoy.
On that note... I WILL occasionally edit the episodes, if there's something that needs adding. I am a stickler for presentation, if you've never noticed how I space the words and make sure that titles and images go in the 'right place' in each one. That's why I added an entire page to Episode 4 - I didn't want to mess up the spacing.
That being said, if someone wants to do artwork for an existing Episode, I WILL edit it in and credit you for it (as long as it's up to quality... obviously... lest I get someone who doesn't like me submitting a stick-figure drawing to try to make me look bad... lol) and - if this alters the spacing, I may create a little more material to get the proper format back.
For instance, if someone did a render of the 'cleaning apparatus' aboard Runhaad-Pilf's ship... cleaning the slaves... I'd likely write more material for the scene so the spacing doesn't get messed up.
Along similar lines... if you have ever collaborated with me, you know that I often take details you put in your renders or other images... that perhaps weren't in the original text... and add them to the story.
I shall TRY to notify you all when I do an edit... if even just by status message.
That reminds me... I'd better go do that...
Participation
As of right now:
Two dA members have made artwork for the purpose of illustration.
Two other dA members have given permission to use existing artwork of theirs for illustration.
Seventy Five PLUS have signed up to be characters in the series... and that's just here, on dA... nearly that many from outside have also signed aboard.
Reception
Episode 0: Prologue - 10 favorites
Episode 1; Part 1 - 06 favorites
Episode 1; Part 2 - 06 favorites
Episode 2: - 07 favorites
Episode 3: - 07 favorites
Episode 4: - 06 favorites
So, none of them are, at this time, in danger of breaking my record for favorites (Halloween Humiliation with 47)
In fact, none of them are even threatening to break into the Top Five:
(Draco Malfoy and the Mud Blood Boy Toy: 36)
(Star Wars: Bonds of the Empire, Episode 1, Part 1: 27)
(Brooke's Bet 2: 25)
(Trouble in the Huma System: 24)
Would I LIKE to see this series eclipse my other ones? Sure. I'm writing it... doing the work... so, of course, I'd love to see it get popular. I also understand that not everyone 'favorites' something that they have read... or even read and liked.
The PRIMER got 392 views, so far. That's not too bad...
In the past 6 months, which has been entirely this series, for me... between promos and story and reference material...
There have been 146 views per deviation, and 18 deviation views per day.
That's not terrible. I think if I had 18, total... I'd just quit writing the series... but there do seem to be people reading it. It's just... slow.
So, if you ARE one of those READING it... spread the word. Maybe these stats will improve and one day this series WILL be in the Top 5 on my page.
OK, I HAVE to get back to writing... if I am to pull off what I am trying to do...
Cheers!
And thanks for reading!

DA SUPPRESSES FACTS - SUPPORTS BULLYING
Have you ever noticed how similar the DA Logo is to a SWASTIKA? This is because they apparently have a FASCIST view of censorship - and they're happy to let members use FASCIST tactics to suppress truth. Do you want to know why I don't typically talk politics on DA? It's not because I don't know the subject. I majored in it. I'm far better informed than the vast majority of people, when it comes to politics. I do extensive research (that's the professional writer in me) and I actually read BILLS, not articles on websites 'summarizing' bills. I get the facts from the source, not from some biased hack site. Against my better judgment, I visited the Politics forum here, on DA. I should have KNOWN that most people on this site would know next to nothing about actual events and would be parrots of debunked talking points and mainstream media bullshit. After all, most 'artists'... and I'll use that term loosely because not everyone on DA is an artist... are ridiculously dumb Leftists - and
Interesting Options
So, as those of you who read my status update know, a friend of mine heard I was looking for suitable tropical maps for the new series and sent me a bunch to look at. Even though I had already begun work on the other map, I decided... in the interest of providing you all with the absolute best series, possible, that I'd look at what he sent me and see if any of them were an ideal fit. After all, the map I had gotten fixed the beach problem, but there were some things I didn't like about it - things that messed with the 'canon' of the series. For instance, Cabo de Ropa is supposed to be relatively isolated from outside contact, and the towns of Lewiston, Clarksville, and even Belle Aire, to some extent, were supposed to be good distances away from the action. The map I had found, while having beaches, really didn't give that feeling of 'isolation', so, I figured I'd give his finds a look. Since I really want you all to enjoy this series, immensely, I am going to share with you and let
Cabo de Ropa Redesign Update: Bigger, Better Map
So, I went through about a dozen maps, and every one of them had this wrong, or that wrong and - I wanted this to be the ideal setting for Cabo de Ropa... because this new series is truly encompassing features from so many of my previous series... ...and, I believe I have it. The layout will allow me to create a few different communities, so I can tell more stories and give you all more options, as well, for how you want to participate. So, this is what I'm thinking for the layout for the main part of the series... where much of it takes place... Notice those beautiful beaches!!! So, um, this might be reworked - not crazy about how some of it is coming out - but... I'll get there. The object, though, tonight, is just to let you see the map and where everything will be when it's done. ...and, here, you can see the lake where I have a cabin... and, at that, I'll leave you to look this over and let me know what you think, if you have any ideas... suggestions...
Rewrites: The Bulk of Writing
In case any of you didn't know, a professional writer spends the vast majority of his or her time in two phases of writing... research,,, and rewrites. That's right, when I am working on a mainstream project, the shortest phase of the project is actually writing the original draft of the story. The bulk of the work is researching the topic, to begin with (especially in Sci-Fi, as there are always new developments in scientific discovery and theory...) and then rewrites... the process of elaboration, enhancing, and editing the finished manuscript until it reaches a point where you consider it ready for publication. One of the things I have done, here, on DA - is that everything you have seen in my Gallery is first-draft stuff... no rewrites. This way, I could produce stories for you, quickly, and without a lot of back-and-forth through the rewrite process. However, sometimes rewrites are entirely unavoidable... like, if you forget to save a file - who hasn't done that, right? Well
